This section is all about pumpkin faces. In the beginning of pumpkin carving around Halloween, pumpkin faces were the main focus for pumpkin carving. The idea was to carve somewhat scary faces into pumpkins that had a shadowy glow when candles were placed inside. Why? We have no idea. The name Jack O’Lantern does not even originate with pumpkin carving. In fact, pumpkins were not the first objects to be hallowed out, carved and illuminated. But, if we had to guess, pumpkins were a good find and people recognized their value when it came to carving them. Since the pumpkins are about the same size and shape of a head, we think the next logical step was to put a face on it. Anyway, it’s just a guess but it seems reasonable when looking at the evolution of pumpkin carving. Anyway, in this section, we will show you pictures of pumpkin faces to help you spark your own imagination. From scary pumpkin faces to funny pumpkin faces, as long as they are carved into a pumpkin, we will post them.
